Maridadi

Privacy

Draft. 15 October 2026. Not yet the published policy.

Maridadi sells pieces of Kenyan making. This page says what we hold about you, why we hold it, and how to reach a person about it. Write to support@maridaditraders.store.

Who this is

The seller is [legal name], trading as Maridadi, at [registered address]. Until that name is settled, the promise below is the one we mean to keep, and a person at the address above will answer questions about it.

What we ask for, and when

We ask for the details a physical order needs, and only then.

  • To send the piece: your name, email, and the delivery address you give at checkout.
  • To show you the order: a private link we email you. That link is how you open the order. You do not need an account.
  • The name on the tag, if you want one. The question is “Whose name will this piece carry?” You can skip it. A skipped tag carries the Maridadi mark only. If you write a name, we store it with the order so it can be printed. You can change it until we start preparing the piece. After that it is locked, and a change means a new tag, not a new piece. The name can be yours, a person you are gifting, or blank. It is not a product option and it is not your legal name.
  • If you write to us: whatever you send to support@maridaditraders.store, and our reply.

We also keep the ordinary record of an order: what you chose, the price you were shown, whether it was paid, and the state of the order (placed, paid, preparing, on its way, arrived). The words on the order page and in the email are the same words.

What we learn from the site

If a measurement id is set, we use Google Analytics to see which pages and acts happen: a collection opened, a piece added, a checkout started, a name set or skipped, a payment that failed, a return begun. We use that to see whether the shop is working. We do not use it to build a profile for ads, and we do not sell it.

If that id is unset, those events are not sent.

The shop can remember a cart in a cookie on your browser so the selection is still there when you come back. The order link in your email is a separate token. It is not a login.

What stays public without an account

Maker, place, material, and technique are on the piece’s page when we know them. If we do not know, the line is absent. We do not fill a gap to make the set look complete, and we do not invent a cultural meaning.

A QR code on the tag opens that piece’s page for anyone who scans it, including a guest. The scan does not show the order, the address, or the payment. The order page stays on the private link.

Who else sees it

  • The payment provider that takes the charge sees the card or wallet details. We do not store a full card number on our shop.
  • The carrier who delivers the piece receives the name and address needed to deliver it.
  • The people who prepare the piece see the order and, if you set one, the name for the tag.
  • A person answering support sees the message you sent.

We do not sell your details. We do not rent a list. We do not buy reviews or show star ratings.

We share details when the law requires it, or when it is needed to deliver the piece you ordered or to answer a return.

How long we keep it

We keep the order, the address, and any inscription for as long as we need them to deliver, to support the order, to handle a return, and to meet tax and accounting duties. A named tag that comes back with an unused piece is destroyed. The piece is restocked without that name.

Analytics follows the retention set on that tool. You can ask us what we still hold.

Your requests

You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we no longer need to keep for the order, a return, or the law. Write to support@maridaditraders.store. We will say what we can delete and what we still have to keep, and why.

The shop is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect a child’s details.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes. The order you already placed keeps the promises that were in front of you when you paid.
